Belly heat done right — with the thermostat already included. This Under Tank Carbon Film Heat Mat comes with an inline digital thermostat, so you're not buying a heat mat and then scrambling to find a controller separately. It's a complete, ready-to-use belly heat solution for species that thermoregulate from below.
What it is
A carbon film under-tank heating mat that adheres to the underside of a glass enclosure, paired with an inline digital thermostat for precise temperature control. Carbon film technology provides even, consistent heat distribution across the mat surface — no hot spots, no cold zones.
What it's used for
- Providing belly heat for species that thermoregulate from below
- Maintaining a warm side floor temperature in terrestrial enclosures
- Supplementing ambient heating in cooler environments
- Supporting digestion in snakes and lizards that rely on belly warmth
May be appropriate for
- Leopard geckos and other crepuscular/nocturnal lizards that use belly heat
- Ball pythons and other snakes kept in tub or rack systems
- Corn snakes, king snakes, and other terrestrial colubrid species
- Any reptile where a warm floor zone is part of the recommended care setup
Specs
- Carbon film heating element — even heat distribution, no hot spots
- Includes inline digital thermostat for precise temperature control
- Adheres to the underside of glass enclosures
- Safe, consistent warmth from below
Husbandry notes
Always use the included thermostat — never run a heat mat unregulated. Set the thermostat probe on the enclosure floor above the mat to monitor surface temperature accurately. Provide a thermal gradient so your animal can move on and off the heat as needed — the mat should cover no more than one-third to one-half of the enclosure floor. Not recommended as the sole heat source for species with high basking temperature requirements.
Under-tank heat mats work best on glass enclosures — they're less effective on plastic tubs due to insulation differences. Adjust thermostat settings accordingly if you notice inconsistent floor temps.
