Crested geckos and other arboreal species don't eat off the floor — so why put their food there? The Bio Ledge Feeder is designed specifically for bioactive and naturalistic enclosures, elevating food off the substrate to keep it clean, accessible, and right where your animal naturally forages.
What it is
A wall-mounted or ledge-style feeder that attaches inside the enclosure, keeping food and supplement dishes elevated above the substrate. Designed with bioactive setups in mind, it prevents soil, leaf litter, and isopods from contaminating food dishes.
What it's used for
- Holding crested gecko diet (CGD) cups or small food dishes at height
- Keeping food clean in bioactive enclosures with active cleanup crews
- Encouraging natural foraging behavior in arboreal species
May be appropriate for
- Crested geckos — the primary intended species
- Gargoyle geckos and other Rhacodactylus species
- Day geckos and other arboreal lizards that feed at height
- Bioactive enclosures with isopod and springtail cleanup crews
Specs
- Elevated ledge design keeps food off the enclosure floor
- Built for bioactive setups — compatible with live substrate environments
- Attaches to enclosure walls for a clean, integrated look
Husbandry notes
Replace CGD cups every 24–48 hours to prevent spoilage, especially in warm or humid enclosures. Position the feeder at a height your animal is comfortable accessing — mid-height is usually ideal for crested geckos. Clean the ledge regularly to prevent mold buildup in high-humidity setups.
Not all arboreal species will immediately recognize an elevated feeder — give new animals a few days to locate it before adjusting placement.
