Heat without light — the 24/7 workhorse of reptile heating. Arcadia Ceramic Heat Emitter Bulbs provide powerful, consistent infrared heat with zero visible light output, making them one of the most reliable options for maintaining ambient temperatures around the clock without disrupting your animal's day/night cycle.

What it is

A ceramic heat emitter (CHE) that screws into a standard E27 ceramic lamp fitting and produces infrared heat without any visible light. Built for long-term, continuous use, Arcadia's CHEs are engineered for durability and consistent output over extended periods.

What it's used for

  • Maintaining ambient enclosure temperatures 24 hours a day
  • Providing nighttime heat without light disruption
  • Supplementing basking heat in cooler ambient environments
  • Use in rack systems and breeding setups where consistent background heat is needed

May be appropriate for

  • Ball pythons, corn snakes, and other snakes requiring consistent ambient warmth
  • Bearded dragons and other lizards needing overnight temperature maintenance
  • Any reptile where nighttime temperatures would otherwise drop below safe levels
  • Rack systems and multi-enclosure breeding setups

Specs

  • No visible light output — safe for 24/7 use including nighttime
  • Ceramic construction for long-lasting, consistent heat output
  • Standard E27 fitting — requires a ceramic lamp fixture (not plastic)
  • Available in multiple wattages

Husbandry notes

Always use with a thermostat — CHEs run very hot and can overheat an enclosure or cause burns without temperature regulation. Requires a ceramic lamp fitting; never use with a plastic fixture. Allow the bulb to cool completely before handling. CHEs last significantly longer than incandescent bulbs but should be tested periodically — they can fail without visible indication since they produce no light.

CHEs are a reliable heat source but not a biologically complete one — for species that benefit from deep tissue infrared heating, consider pairing with or upgrading to an Arcadia Deep Heat Projector.
