Not every reptile drinks from a still water dish — and for those that don't, the Spring Cave changes everything. This drip-style water feature mimics the way many geckos and chameleons drink in the wild: from moving water droplets running down leaves and surfaces. If your animal ignores standing water, this may be exactly what they need.
What it is
A decorative cave-style enclosure accessory with a built-in dripping water feature. Water flows from the top of the cave and trickles down the surface, creating movement that triggers the drinking response in species that rely on running or dripping water sources.
What it's used for
- Providing a naturalistic drinking source for species that don't drink from still water
- Adding humidity and ambient moisture to the enclosure
- Serving as a decorative hide or climbing feature
May be appropriate for
- Crested geckos and other Rhacodactylus species
- Veiled chameleons, panther chameleons, and other chameleon species
- Day geckos and other arboreal species that drink from dripping surfaces
- Dart frogs and tropical amphibians in high-humidity setups
Specs
- Drip-style water feature — mimics natural rainfall and leaf drip
- Cave design doubles as a hide or climbing structure
- Decorative aesthetic suitable for naturalistic and bioactive enclosures
Husbandry notes
Clean the unit regularly to prevent algae and bacterial buildup — standing water in any feature can become a contamination risk if not maintained. Use distilled or filtered water when possible to reduce mineral deposits. Monitor your animal to confirm they are actually drinking from it, especially during the first week of introduction.
This is a supplement to — not a replacement for — regular misting. Always ensure your enclosure humidity and hydration needs are met through a complete husbandry routine.
